Course Description:
The Production Lighting Technician concentrates on the technical aspects of theatre lighting: system specification; planning and management of both people and equipment; board operation and programming.
Production Lighting is the only course in the UK where students can study production lighting, in all aspects, to degree level. On the course you will get the chance to employ multi-media equipment and work in a large variety of professionally equipped theatre spaces. Students will work in many traditional and non-traditional theatrical styles, as well as having opportunities to explore the many other applications of controlled lighting and projection technologies used in today's performance and entertainment industries, including theatre, music, and film.
Study concentrates on the technical aspect of theatre lighting such as: System specification; Planning and management of both people and equipment; Board operation and planning.
