They will also be responsible for the production of sound for numerous fully realised productions that range from conventional performance to alternative contemporary styles of theatre, and get to work in venues that range from site-specific outdoor productions to our Embassy Studio or Theatre. At the end of the course they should have the skills applicable to all areas of the entertainment industry, including theatre, television and film.
Study will indicatively include: Working in teams with students from other disciplines such as Lighting Design, Stage Management, Stage Design, Technical Stage Management and Acting on a range of practical projects designed to develop an overall understanding of the creative process and the context and history of live performance, as well as technical, communication and problem-solving skills; Working with new and traditional equipment to create, edit and operate sound effects and soundscapes; Exploring the use of music, vocal reinforcement and digital sound-processing in performance; Having the opportunity to meet key practitioners and observe and take part in professional production work with our industry partners.
