Course Description:
BA (Hons) Degree 3 years, Diploma of HE 2 years, Certificate of HE 1 year
BA (Hons) Degree 4 years, Diploma of HE 3 years, Certificate of HE 2 years
All applicants will be expected to possess a portfolio of work that demonstrates an appropriate level of creative, analytical, technical and personal achievement.
Theatre Design with Lighting concentrates on the skills associated with lighting design and the preparation of the lighting rig in a wide range of situations for the theatre, exhibition, film, television and associated industries. Lighting activities including the use of WYSIWYG and Thematics light boxes. There is an option for students to also gain the City & Guilds 236 parts 1 and 2 Electrical Installation qualification, which would potentially qualify them to Chief LX level.
The programme offers students the opportunity to acquire the appropriate technical and practical skills needed to access a range of career opportunities or Postgraduate study.
