Course Leader Performing Arts (Technical Theatre): Andy Brady
Course Description:
This
programme aims to prepare students for entry into the performing
arts/theatre profession, providing students with the skills necessary
to create their own employment. Active research is also encouraged.
The course brings live performance to surrounding areas of the
community and students have actively liaised with employers in the
past: booking a variety of local venues for their work. Students are
also encouraged to mount their own productions and performance
evenings, participate in additional workshops such as technical
theatre or journalism and produce their own showcase evenings. The
programme enables you to convert your Foundation Degree or HND into a
BA (Hons) by completing a third year of study, and is validated by
the University of Hull.
Students are encouraged to engage
in independent, innovative new work and there is a strong network to
support and advise students in their studies. Core modules include
Research in Context, Performance Realisation and Production Project
(a full-scale performance for public consumption) with specialist
modules in Devising Theatre, Creative Lighting Design, and Creative
Sound Design.
