Course Description:
This
course enables students to explore the practice, history and theory
of drama in a range of contexts and settings. They will have the
opportunity to work with leading professionals and to be actively
involved with productions. Kingston's drama team has good links
with the world of theatre and television, and a close association
with the town's exciting new theatre.
This course combines theory with
some practical work. Students will look at different approaches to
the study of performance, explore the skills of the actor and study
theatre history. They will learn stagecraft techniques and
procedures, and can focus on areas that they find particularly
interesting, such as melodrama, writing for radio and devised
theatre.
