Description

The Department has a national and international reputation for its high quality programmes in the arts. We offer undergraduate degree programmes in Contemporary Arts, Contemporary Crafts, Contemporary Theatre and Performance, Creative Writing and Dance, as well a Joint Honours Arts provision in eight subjects (Community Arts, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Live Art, Music, Popular Musics and Sonic Arts). The postgraduate provision includes a taught programme with MA outcomes, and research degrees at MPhil and PhD levels. The department’s provision was formally graded as ‘excellent’ in a Quality Assurance Agency review event in 2000. The Department’s aim is to develop reflective practitioners. The tutors, technicians and administrators in the department all are engaged in this aim.
