Description
This dynamic Foundation Degree Programme enables students to acquire the skills and vocational training to begin building a career in the Performing Arts Industry. Students will be based mainly at the Pegasus Theatre in Oxford and gain invaluable practical experience through workshops and public performances. The course will balance performance techniques, the study of contemporary artistic influences and the development of professional theatre practice in the community. Modules (Year One): Integrated Production; The development of the vocational skills central to the Performing Arts; Dynamics of Stage Production - developing technical skills: Stage Management; Lighting & Sound; Techniques of Performance - acting and dance techniques; Introduction to Professional Practice - the development of the required managerial and administrative skills. (Year Two): Production Company - the creation of performance companies to develop work within a community context. Staging Performance.
Successful completion of the programme offers the opportunity to transfer to progress to a BA Single Honours degree in Performing Arts and Professional Practice or to employment.
