Description
Courses in Media and Communication cover everything from the scientific and technical (like Creative Technologies) to practical and creative courses (such as Film and Video, Journalism, Media Production, Radio and Television) and more theory-based courses (such as Film Studies and Media Studies).
If students want to enter the industry at the cutting edge of music production and technology, we will help them develop skills in the creation, recording, mastering and distribution of music, as well as video, computer animation, film and television. Drama (Theatre and Media) was one of 12 subjects at Glamorgan rated ‘Excellent' by the Government's Teaching Quality Assessment body in 2000.
We have our own theatre on campus, which is used by students and visiting companies. Productions are regularly staged at Cardiff's Sherman Theatre and Chapter Arts Centre venues and students have taken productions to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
All courses have been carefully designed to meet the needs of today's media industry. We have taken advice from technical and creative people working in the media, from sound engineers and studio owners to musicians and multimedia experts.
