Course Description:
This well-established course is for individuals wishing to create new and innovative work for the theatre in companies. Within an experimental and supportive atmosphere, you will learn to record and reflect on your own emerging practice, becoming more articulate as a practitioner, with a greater understanding of your own strengths and abilities as a contemporary theatre-maker.
The MA Advanced Theatre Practice is a theatremaking course for those with a background in: Design, Lighting Design, Sound Design and Music for Performance, Scenography, Directing, Dramaturgy, Performance, Puppetry and Object Theatre, Visual Media for Performance, Writing for Performance or other academic and practical disciplines.
Students on this course form a carefully selected group of theatre-makers - aiming to imagine the theatre of the future in an atmosphere encouraging choice, personal advancement and imaginative possibility.
Study includes working with a range of experienced practitioners, undertaking a thorough analysis of their work; working closely members of the wider faculty; activating languages of interdisciplinary theatre within one of three broad investigative clusters. Students work will be documented and disseminated within a variety of institutional contexts, for example, web-based technologies and digital mediums.
