Course Description:
This
is a creative theatre performance course designed for students who
see their own processes of creating original theatre work as a
dynamic and empowering starting point for a career in creative arts.
Of primary importance is the
notion of the theatre practitioner as an engaged communicator,
prepared to take responsibility for the creative process and the
implications of performance. The focus, therefore, is on devised
theatre, with a curriculum emphasising group and teamwork, developed
within a vocational context that prepares students for careers as
creative artists. With this in mind, students have the opportunity to
explore performance in a variety of contexts and settings, using a
wide range of theatrical and non-theatrical environments.
Option subjects include
Introduction to Technical Theatre; Multi-Media Theatre; Inter-Media
Platform.
The department also runs an MA in
Theatre Collectives.
