Course Description:
At
undergraduate level, four-year courses are offered in Theatre Studies
and in Film & Television Studies, either of which may be taken as
part of a Master of Arts Joint Honours degree in a wide range of
subject combinations or as a Single Honours curriculum. The four-year
structure affords the opportunity for more general, or foundational,
study in the first two years followed by increasingly specialised
study - including more intensive practical project work - In the
third and fourth years. First- and second-year courses in Theatre
Studies and in Film & Television Studies may also be taken as
components in the broadly-based, three-year MA General Humanities
degrees.
Undergraduate courses in Theatre
Studies include Applied Theatre Practices, Directing and Writing for
Performance within Junior Honours, and Advanced Directing, Advanced
Writing for Performance and Work placement - often to one of the
professional theatre producers in Glasgow - in Senior Honours.
