Course Description:
The
Dance course is designed for students interested in exploring their
creativity and arts practice both independently and in group
situations. You will be encouraged to question assumptions about
dance, relating your specialist discipline to the field of
contemporary performance theory and practice.
Choreography is a major part of
the programme, allowing students to focus on making, performing and
analysing dance in a variety of contexts. Critical and analytical
skills are developed in the evaluation of dance activities, through
observing, discussing and writing about dance. The dance course
introduces graduates to a range of potential employment
opportunities, for example, teaching, arts administration,
independent choreography, community dance practice, arts journalism,
postgraduate research.
