Course Description:
A course in Professional Production Skills which is validated by the University of Surrey and accredited by NCDT. Applicants will normally have completed the 1 or 2 year courses above but applications from candidates with relevant professional/educational experience and or qualifications may be considered.
The courses aim to give students the widest possible theatrical education and professional vocational training so as to produce efficient, confident, creative and technically skilled Stage Managers, Designers and Production Staff who will have the skills and stamina to succeed in all areas of the entertainment industry. The syllabus is designed to enable students to study all aspects of production and stage management, design and technical theatre in the classroom, in project work and in practical exercises in a pressured theatre environment, prior to working on productions with public performances.
3 Core modules: Dissertation; Management in the Arts (MITA); ECDL.
1 Option Module from: Lighting Designer, Scenic & Property Designer, Stage Manager: Studio, Stage Manager: Tour, Production Electrician, Production Manager, Master Carpenter.
Applicants will normally have completed the on- or two-year programmes at the Conservatoire but applications will be considered from applicants who have completed an equivalent level of study.
Stage Management students have a unique opportunity to work on small, medium and large scale Musical Theatre productions and are prepared for this with extensive score reading and dance notation classes and tutorials.
