Course Description:
Whether you are interested in managing people and events, or working closely with actors, writers and directors to develop new and exciting projects, the NCDT accredited Stage Management programme will equip you with the skills to pursue a successful career. Stage management is about coordinating a range of disciplines through the production process, enabling your team to produce its best possible work. This includes learning to respond intelligently to unpredictable creative circumstances and then working out how to proceed with clarity. The sheer variety of challenges makes great demands on your creativity, your knowledge of the context within which you are working, and your ability to analyse situations.
On this programme you will have opportunities to work in a wide variety of performance areas reflecting the diverse range of Stage Management destinations within the industry, such as festivals, music events and theatre, and including new writing and devising projects. You will learn a range of performance technologies and be exposed to current professional practice during an industry placement. The programme aims to develop your passion for live performance and introduce you to the wide range of career pathways available to the 21st Century stage manager.
