Course activity and assessment
processes are designed for people who enjoy learning through
practical activity. The assessment procedures will allow where
possible for flexibility; students who intend to continue to complete
a third year after the Foundation degree to complete an Honours
Degree will be expected to produce written evidence. Students who
wish to progress straight into the professional world may be able to
select alternative valid methods of presentation.
This largely practical creative
course will develop the skills that you need to become a valuable
member of a small scale touring theatre company. This course will
teach and develop the necessary skills to enable you to fulfil
performance, production or administration roles.
The first year of the course
focuses on the teaching and development of skills in all subject
areas. The second year focuses on the informed application of those
skills as you come together with your peers to form a touring theatre
company who produce, perform and tour a community theatre performance
in semester 1 followed by a small-scale theatre tour of a production
that your company has created in semester 2. The extent of this tour
is dependent on the second year company. The tour could be local,
national or international. It's up to you.
