Course Description:
Our long established training in theatre production skills offers a fast track course for more mature students. Following the initial two term foundation in theatre skills, students undertake a wide range of jobs and responsibilities on the range of School shows performed in Bristol and on tour. An introduction is given to other branches of the industry, and students will undertake up to three weeks placement in a professional theatre organisation in their second year.
Students readily find employment in professional theatre from this course. Applicants should already have some practical experience of work on school, college or amateur productions. It would be advisable to talk to professionals in the industry to gain a clear idea of what the working life can be like. Students are trained in small groups, allowing individual attention both to their skills training and career advice.
Both courses and naturally the career are rigorous and require high levels of energy and commitment; involving hard work and long hours, they are not for the faint hearted. Applicants will need to demonstrate strong enthusiasm and commitment, a high degree of self-motivation and to be physically and mentally fit.
