Course Description:
This course is centred around working with plays. These are explored in workshops, analysed in performance and studied from a social and historical perspective. Students have the chance to devise and perform an original piece of theatre, to adapt a script for performance and to participate in a varied programme of theatre visits. There are also opportunities to develop skills in design or direction as well as acting. The course is both intellectually and practically challenging. Good teamwork skills are important as much of the work is group-based. Students will use the rehearsal rooms, the 80 and 200-seat performance theatres at the Institute.
