Course Description:
The
Creative Events programme is located at the University of Kent at
Medway campus in Chatham Maritime. The course is based in the
Galvanising Shop, its own dedicated, fully-equipped building on the
neighbouring Historic Dockyard. This converted workshop comprises its
own lecture theatre, state-of the-art design and IT facilities, a
full range of events equipment and workshop and performance areas.
The dockyard itself is an amazing site that includes moored ships
(ancient, modern and submarines) and a fantastic range of buildings
and exterior spaces that provide the course with best laboratory and
classroom imaginable.
If students are interested in any
of the following then this degree may be for them: theatre, stage
design, stage and production management, entertainment technology,
heritage, celebration, interior / spatial design, entertaining
people, advertising, communications, culture, post-modern
complexities, parties, live-art. Rather than specifying specific
entry subjects, it is possible to come with A levels, Baccalaureates
or BTecs in Arts, Sciences or Social Sciences - or a combination of
these. We do ask for evidence of an enquiring and creative mind, of
dedication and hard work, and an interest in imaginative
communication.
