Course Description:
We offer the intermediate one year BTEC First Diploma in Performance (Production) course. Entry requirements: 16 points on the GCSE scale including at least two Grade D’s, ideally with English, and a relevant subject area) with literacy and numeracy skills, or NVQ 1, or GNVQ Foundation (preferably with a Merit profile), experience if over 19 years of age. Most students will benefit from further training at a higher level and successful students will be qualified to apply for NVQ 3 (Advanced GNVQ) and National Diploma. All applicants will attend an interview in College.
Many former students are now established names in the entertainment industry and associated facility companies as technicians, stage managers and heads of departments. We are keen to maintain links with them and the courses benefit from their practical support. In addition, the entertainment industry gives our courses generous support.
The Oldham College is a long established member organisation of the ABTT.
